I can hardly believe that today my oldest daughter turns 23! Can I really be that old? It seems like just yesterday I was counting her tiny baby toes at the hospital and marveling at how perfect she was! Red hair and all! Louise, I love you and I am so proud of you! You are so sure of yourself and your path in life and I admire that and, truth be told, am somewhat envious of you! I hope that your birthday is everything you want it to be (meaning that I hope Ryan Gosling calls you just to say “Hey girl! Happy Birthday!”)!
So, as Ben turns 8, he is spending his birthday weekend in Clearwater, participating with his Challenger Baseball team at the Jamboree! The Challenger Little League is a special baseball division set up for children who have disabilities of all kinds, allowing them to learn the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Everyone gets to play! Everyone gets a turn at bat!
I cannot say enough good things about the Challenger League. They have been welcoming and supportive all the way! They even pay for the uniforms so that all the kids can afford to play! This has been a great experience for Ben and it is hard to believe he is growing up so fast!
If you, or someone you know, has a special needs child that would like to participate in the Challenger Baseball League, you can find info on their website: CHALLENGER BASEBALL * CLICK HERE
