Recently (actually a month or so ago) I got a box of TastyKake Minis to try out with my family (free, compliments of Influenster for testing and review purposes ** all of the opinions stated in this post are my own). We have had TastyKake items before but not these cute little mini cupcakes!
We tried the Reese’s Peanut Butter flavor and they were so good that I never got to try any! Seriously, I put them on the table and they were GONE. Yep, they were that good! Nice mix of chocolate and peanut butter with the swirly on the top. Out of the whole box I got to try ONE cupcake.
In the box there are 8 packages of 3 cupcakes each which is basically 24 cupcakes in the box. My kids really liked that it felt like they got a lot in each package.
In my opinion, we really didn’t need a “mini-win” reason to enjoy these snacks. Eating them is enough of a mini-win all on it’s own!
Since I have three daughters, I have seen a lot of makeup products come and go in my household. Many times the items don’t live up to their claims and aren’t worth the money I paid for them. That’s why I am always willing to give my honest review in exchange for free products to try out. I get to sample the items without spending any money out of pocket to find out if they are worth buying or not. In my FrostyVoxBox, complements of Influenster, they sent me the Rimmel Just Let It Go gentle eye makeup remover and also a Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eyeliner pencil in black.
The eyeliner pencil says that it is waterproof which is interesting. I am not even sure if there is an eyepencil like that out there already. Anyhow, after trying it out I can definitely say that it stays put better than other eyeliners. It doesn’t smudge easily but it does still smudge. I can see using this for defining lines but if you are looking for an eyeliner that blends easily, this is not it. Interestingly, I was able to wipe the eyeliner off with just some plain water on my finger so I am not sure what makes this “waterproof” since it definitely isn’t. Bottom line: a good eyeliner that stays put and doesn’t smudge easily (but is NOT waterproof)
The makeup remover states that it is “gentle”. I don’t wear a lot of makeup on my eyes. I am a mascara and eyeliner kind of girl so it’s not like there was a ton of stuff to take off. I usually just use baby oil and a tissue to remove my makeup. When I tried this remover, the fact that it was “oil free” just made it feel more difficult to take the makeup off. Like it was actually drying to my skin. It did not make the skin around my eyes feel smooth and soft and cared for. It also made my eyes sting. Bottom line: I did not like this remover at all and will be sticking with baby oil and a tissue.
** I received these products for free to test and review
With all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season behind us (for another 11 months anyhow), I finally have time to turn my attention towards some product reviews. During the holidays, I received the Frosty VoxBox compliments of Influenster. It is full of nice, new things that they sent me to try for free!
The box contained:
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Sachet
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum
Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea
I recently purchased a Lands End Kids backpack for Ben and thought I would just create a post for my Lands End Reviews.
I have four children. My oldest is 23 years old. This means that I have purchased a LOT of backpacks! For the most part, those purchases have just been buying a backpack for under $20, making sure that the child I was buying it for loved it and would actually use it for the school year. This also meant buying a new backpack every year since these cheaper backpacks just didn’t last longer than one school year.
This year, Ben got a new backpack as usual. He opted for a Star Wars one and he was thrilled with his choice. Within the first three days (literally, three days), the zipper came off the track twice and the backpack started to fray in various places. Good grief!
Then I remembered hearing from a friend that they got a Lands End backpack and it comes with a warranty! Great! I quickly went over to their site and realized that these backpacks were out of my price range (almost $50). Yikes! But still, I loved the designs that they had to choose from and was also really swayed by the warranty they offered. Being a big fan of “want lists” and waiting to see if prices drop on expensive items, I signed up for their email list and just waited.
After two or three days I got an email from Lands End about a sale that they were having which included free shipping. I went over to their site and sure enough, the backpack I wanted for Ben was now $25 and qualified for free shipping!
The Lands End Kids backpack arrived a few days later and I have been nothing short of thrilled with this purchase! Great quality! Great sale price! Fast shipping! It has a ton of neat features and is holding up great! Best of all, Ben loves it too! This was my first purchase from Lands End but I am certain that it will not be my last!
*** note *** this is not a technical or detailed review. Just a brief blurb in cyberspace about me liking the movie
I have been looking forward to renting the dvd ”Take Me Home Tonight” for some time now. It looked so cute and I am a HUGE fan of all things 80′s (I was in high school in the 80′s). This movie was no disappointment!
It was raunchy (pretty raunchy, actually) but was really very good! If you liked “Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion” then you would love this flick! Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer star with Angie Everhart and Michelle Trachtenberg making appearances as well.
The soundtrack was INCREDIBLE as well! Can’t wait to get that!
